Is your memorial dirty or stained from air pollution, birds, hard water, or a number of any other sources?
Spring is just around the corner and you may be thinking about cleaning your flat marker or monument. The material you will need the most is water. On average it takes 20 gallons of water to clean an average size monument. Do not use a pressure washer. First, get your monument thoroughly wet, then start cleaning from the bottom. You will need to put a little elbow grease into the cleaning. You can use a nylon or fiber pad, soft cloth, but no wire or steel pads. There is no need to use any harsh cleaning products, but only a light sudsy solution of mild soap added to the water. It is important to keep your stone wet while cleaning and to not let it dry until the cleaning is finished. Keep in mind it may take more than one cleaning depending on how dirty or stained your monument is. In the event you need more thorough cleaning, please call Lincoln Granite for a current cleaning service cost.
